Dental Implants Burlington Residents’ Solution for Missing Teeth

September 3, 2015

woman with a beautiful smile thanks to the dental implants burlington residents loveThese days, we’re showing off our smiles more than ever before. When I was growing up, we didn’t broadcast our faces on Facebook and Instagram — and the word selfie certainly wasn’t in the dictionary yet. I kind of like the trend of sharing photos instantly, but I know that if you don’t have a smile you feel great about, it’s stressful when somebody pulls the camera out.

Missing, damaged or worn-down teeth can be caused by a lot of things — car accidents, bad genes or excessive decay can all contribute. No matter the cause, the result is the same: a smile you’re reluctant to show, and a lot of photos of you hiding in the background with your mouth closed.

If you’re hiding behind a damaged smile, we want you to know you have options. One excellent solution for missing or damaged teeth is dental implants, which we’ve been using at our office for years.

The Cosmetic Dentist Burlington Turns to for Six Month Smile Transformation

August 30, 2015

couple with great teeth thanks to the cosmetic dentist burlington loves complete dental careI had crowded, crooked teeth my entire life. I remember as a kid, I used to practice my smile for photo day at school. I’d hold a wide smile without showing any teeth. As an adult, I found myself talking, eating, laughing, and smiling in public with one hand over my mouth. A quick review of my social media photo albums revealed that I either had the close-lipped smile I perfected in my youth, or I was frowning in every picture. If friends happened to catch me in a candid shot that exposed my teeth, I hid the photo. In less than a year, I was graduating from college, and starting my own business. All my classmates talked about how important presenting a polished, professional image to the public via websites and social media was to building a client base. Each time I thought about meeting people, presenting proposals, or smiling for the camera, my stomach would sink. I’d worked diligently for four years, and my smile was the one thing keeping me from feeling confident in my abilities. That’s when I decided to visit Dr. James P. Kostas and the caring team at Complete Dental Care of Burlington, MA to find out how I could straighten my teeth. If you’re a working professional considering orthodontics, I highly recommend you pick up the phone and call to schedule your smile evaluation and consultation today.

A Stronger, More Confident Smile with Implant-Retained Dentures

March 11, 2015

78769905Dental implants are considered the gold standard of restorative dentistry. For edentulous patients, or those who are missing all of their teeth, dental implants can be used to support a full denture for a secure bite and a beautifully restored smile. At Complete Dental Care in Burlington, MA, Dr. James P. Kostas and his team believe that everyone deserves to enjoy the full benefits of a complete set of teeth. One of the ways that we accomplish this involves the use of implant-retained dentures.

The Advantages of Dental Implant-Retained Dentures

While removable dentures do help edentulous patients enjoy a more normal life following tooth loss, they can be unstable and uncomfortable. Ill-fitting dentures can slip when you speak or eat, and the feeling of a sliding prosthetic against your gums is far from pleasant. With traditional dentures, your diet is limited to foods that are manageable, and you may miss the freedom to enjoy your favorite meals and snacks.

Fortunately, Dr. Kostas has a proven solution that can restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with complete confidence. Implant-retained dentures are secure, comfortable, and easy to maintain. Strategically placed dental implants are surgically fixed within your jaw, creating a solid foundation for your restoration. Your dentures are custom-crafted to complement your facial contours and will look completely natural.

Unlike many dental practices in the area, Complete Dental Care offers both the placement and the restoration of dental implants right here under one convenient roof. From the first stages of planning your treatment to the moment you see your new smile for the first time, we are your trusted partners in your journey toward improved oral health with dental implants.

Single Tooth Implants

January 6, 2014

Dental ImplantDo you have a full smile, or is a missing tooth threatening to sideline your confidence and good oral health? At my Burlington dental office, I offer a restorative dental service that can help you replace what you’ve lost. That service is known as dental implants.

With a dental implant, I can help you bridge the gap from one tooth to another, restoring your good health and your confidence. A dental implant can also help you prevent the loss of other teeth later on. That’s because dental implants are structured like natural teeth, with a crown on top and a prosthetic titanium root underneath.

Replacing a missing tooth and its root is important, because your roots play a very important role. Besides anchoring your teeth to your jaw, they also stimulate bone growth. When you have a missing root, the jaw can atrophy. As it does, nearby teeth can become weak and eventually shift or fall out. Dental implants help prevent this by replacing your natural root with one made of titanium, a biocompatible metal. Once in place, your implant will form a natural bond with the jaw, anchoring your new tooth and keeping the jaw strong going forward.

A dental implant takes two phases: the placement phase and the restoration phase. I perform both at my Burlington dental office. Many other dentists will refer their patients to an outside doctor for the placement phase, but at Complete Dental Care you’ll be surrounded by a dental team you already know and trust.

Is a dental implant the best way for you to fix the gap in your smile? Call my Burlington dental office today to schedule a consultation. I’ll assess your health and your needs and answer any questions you might have before helping you decide on a customized plan that’s exactly right for you.

My office happily serves patients from Bedford, Billerica, and Woburn.
